Only through the soul crushing experience of perhaps too long a life have I come finally to a station of genuine dialogue with my Lord - uncaring in a visceral and profound and whole sense over the fruit any of my effort may bring and only concerned with the effort itself. It may be this work reaches many, it may be that it reaches few, it may be that it reaches no one ever - but that is not my concern, and if it ever becomes my concern I ask my Lord to apostatize me on the Day of Judgement without any quarter. I say with a heavy and regretful and a guilt filled heart that I have lived an ineffectual life, I have hurt many people and wasted much time, I have fallen deep into sin and self destructive vices and as a result swaths and swaths of time have passed me as if only mere moments were shed where years reside.

Though, perhaps it took all of that for me to come to realize in a true and a deep and internal sense that there is no where to run from the confrontation with the world, I may cope all I want but nothing will solve it - that I must struggle against the worst aspects of myself in order to show my Lord and my Messenger the mettle of my spine. If that attempt opens the psycho-spiritual eyes of another searcher then so be it, though my words can only ever make clearer to someone truth of which I can never claim ownership of.

God willing something may be done. God willing my Lord will facilitate the security needed in order for my mind to think clear enough to write anything of worth.

VINCIT OMNIA VERITAS

Only that which is for Allah and His Messenger will stand the test of time and all else will be burned away in the raging fire of “Allah-Hu-Akbar” (Iqbal, “Jawab-e-Shikwa”).

And “may the eyes of a coward never find rest” (Khalid ibn al Walid, quoted from “Tareekh Dimashq” by Ibn Asakir)
