About Our Efforts

In July of 2021 I had happened upon a video uploaded by Dr. Jonathan A.C Brown - a man whose work I became interested in at the time due to my rising interest in the phenomenon of scriptural historicity - wherein he went over some of the most seminal works making up the canon of his influence.

He had mentioned “The Road to Mecca” by Muhammad Asad, along with Asad’s other works such as his magnum opus “The Message of The Quran” and I had, as of yet, to ever hear any sort of character as Asad was in all my years previous.

Up until then my religious experience had been that of understanding Islam to be a mostly hermetic phenomenon - to be closer to God to me meant at the time to retreat away further and further from the world - though Asad called this into question majorly.

Throughout the years I would come slowly to inculcate myself within his ilk - influences such as Muhammad Iqbal came to color my understanding of religion from that point on permanently.

In the Summer of 2024 one of my friends recommended to begin a book club, a group we named “A Message From The East” after the poem by Iqbal “Payam-e-Mashriq” - and from then until now we firmly investigated the canon literature and influences of Asad, Iqbal and other thinkers of this age such as Malcolm X.

I would eventually make my way to Vienna, Austria - Asad’s birthplace - due to many extraordinary circumstances and as such a vision crystalized to eventually work towards publishing a body of literature.

As such “A Message From The East Press” was born on October the 26th, 2024 at The Schönbrunn Palace between the hours of 12:55 PM CET to 4:56 PM CET wherein walking the palace grounds I resolved after much thought to bring out these theories into reality.

And so God willing, I hope to aid other searchers on their journey to understand the true nature of things.
